Inufficient Fare

Scrap Metals

Insufficient Fare is the 2026 debut short film by Michael Gugger and Varvara Kanellakopoulou.

Blending comedy, documentary, and narrative drama odes as a nostalgic farewell to New York City’s iconic physical transit currency: The MetroCard.

Dorcia Studio worked closely with the director duo to form the Creative Direction for both the film’s unique visual identity through visual cutaways, VFX, and title design, as well as out-of-home materials to capture the spirit of New York City through an object that has quietly witnessed generations of city life over two decades.

Voiced by New York poet Lemon Andersen, the film premiered at the 2026 Tribeca Film Festival, winning the inaugural “Best New York Short” category.
